From 5 April 2022, directors must apply for their director ID before they’re appointed.

Directors appointed before 1 November 2021 have until 30 November 2022 to apply.

ASIC is in charge of implementing the Corporations Act 2001's director ID provisions. Failure to apply on time is a criminal offence.
